GOD’S RE-UNION OF HEALING HEARTS
Around the age of three my biological dad left my brother and I with no return. I had prayed for many years through my childhood, and late teens for his return. One day in my late twenties I came to the conclusion that I had not left it in God’s hands and there was nothing I could do to change the situation but to leave it to God. So, from that day forward I let God take control. When you let him take control nothing can go wrong.
A few months ago my dad contacted me by internet, apologizing for his actions and wanting to have a relationship. I was tearfully shocked and excited all at the same time. I knew God had done his work and know the rest was up to us to let it unfold. My dad said God had changed his life one day many years ago and he needed to confront his past. He called the issues that he needed to confront “his fears”. All the fears he was dealing with through the years did not compare with my brother and I, for this was his worst fear of all. He could not forgive himself for what he had done. When he let God take control it all started to fall into place.
After many e-mails and phone conversations we scheduled a time to meet each other. My brother and I flew to Michigan to see our dad for the first time in almost forty-five years. When we embraced for the first time it all felt so right. At last we had all been re-united.
The re-union was the best that any of us could have asked for. By the end of our visit it had seemed like we all had known each other our entire lives. Remember, God will always answer your prayers in his time frame not in ours. So leave your prayer with God and whether it takes 5 minutes or 45 years he has perfect timing and will get it done with expertise and nothing less. All three of us walked away with hearts that had been healed by God.
