In 1925 a small group of people began
having weekly prayer meetings in the home of R. F.
Horton. Then in 1931 Rev. A. V. Beaube set the church
in order with the following charter members:
Charles, Myrtle and Lorine Verble; Bro. Judy; Bro.
Etheridge; Bro. & Sis. Temple; Bro. & Sis. Golden;
Bro. & Sis. Teague; Bro. Willis; Bro. & Sis Horton;
and Bro. Ivy.
In 1932 a lot was purchased at 3277 Rosamond Avenue. On
which the Rosamond Avenue Church of God was built.

Under the pastorate of Rev. Jas. Edmon Stallings, on the first Sunday of April 1973, the church moved to its new location at 1130 Whitten Rd., and the church name was changed to Whitten Heights Church of God.

Another name change was in store for the church. In 2002, under the pastorate of Jim Milligan, the name was changed to Spirit Life Worship Center.
